Diagnosis: Product Failure

Jan 16, 2012 |

If you take prescription medicine, it’s in your best interest to stay current with any medication or surgical product recalls. Patients who have experienced problems with any of the products listed below may be entitled to a cash settlement from the drug or product manufacturer.

Give us a call to see if you might be eligible. Remember, some side effects from drugs or products take years to manifest.

Here are a few of the latest medical recalls:

  • Hip Replacement: DePuy Metal Hips. The product’s metal-on-metal design can produce friction that causes the release of tiny metal fragments. These fragments can cause damage to tissue near the site of the surgery.
  • Diabetes Medication: ACTOS by Takeda Pharmaceuticals. The FDA recently announced that using ACTOS for more than one year may increase the risk of bladder cancer.
  • Transvaginal Mesh: Manufacturers include: C. R. Bard, Boston Scientific, American Medical Systems (AMS), and Gynecare/ Ethicon, Inc., Johnson & Johnson. Women who have undergone surgery that includes the use transvaginal mesh may experience long-term complications that require additional surgeries.

If you or a loved one has questions about these or other medical product recalls, call our office immediately. Many legal claims must take place within a specific period. The sooner you call, the sooner you’ll know if you’re entitled to compensation.
