Voluntary recalls on Rohto, Abrams Royal Compounding Pharmacy products and more: Bentoff & Duber Medical Recall Recap

Feb 17, 2014 |

In the past 30 days, the FDA has put out notices on a wide range of voluntary recalls of drugs and other products. Most of these are not reported to be associated with complaints or adverse affects in patients, but we at Bentoff & Duber want to make sure you’re aware of them in case you or a loved one is at risk. Keep this list of recalls on your radar and if you have anything to report regarding one of them, please contact us.

Rohto Eye Drops Made in Vietnam

The Mentholatum Company has voluntarily recalled the following eye drops, but only those manufactured in Vietnam. These can be identified with the letter V included in the product lot numbers on the bottom of the carton and eye drop bottle. The products include:

  • Rohto Arctic
  • Rohto Ice
  • Rohto Hydra
  • Rohto Relief
  • Rohto Cool

This recall is due to the production facility in Vietnam that did not meet sterility control specifications during its last manufacturing review. Similar products made in Japan are not included as part of this recall.

Pro ArthMax 120 Count Bottle

This dietary supplement for joint pain and arthritis, marketing on the consumer level, was recalled due to undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients found in it. These ingredients qualify it as an unapproved new drug and could result in additional health risks for patients with underlying illnesses.

Abrams Royal Compounding Pharmacy products

The FDA is alerting health care professionals and patients of all non-expired sterile drug products made by Abrams Royal Compounding Pharmacy in Dallas, Texas. These products were distributed between June 17 and Dec. 17, 2013 and include:

  • Intravenous (IV) injections
  • Eye drops
  • Pellet implants
  • Nasal sprays
  • Inhalation solutions
  • Eye ointments

If you have had an adverse reaction as a result of using these drugs or if you are a victim of any other medical negligence, we are here to take care of you. Call us today at 216-861-1234 or submit a contact form for a free consultation.
